Twenty years after their initial collaboration, Louis Vuitton and Japanese artist Takashi Murakami reunite to unveil Louis Vuitton × Murakami—a vibrant reimagining of their original collection. This joyful revival, featuring over 200 new creations, highlights the enduring bond between Maison Louis Vuitton and the groundbreaking artist, blending timeless craftsmanship with contemporary pop culture and collectibility.

Zendaya as the Muse

Fronting the campaign is Zendaya, an icon of the Gen Z generation and a true muse for Louis Vuitton, embodying the spirit of this bold creative partnership.

A Fusion of Artistry and Savoir-Faire

Murakami, renowned for his ability to merge traditional Japanese art with sci-fi, anime, and the kawaii aesthetic, has lent his colorful, imaginative vision to the collection. His motifs, first brought to life in collaboration with then-Creative Director Marc Jacobs, now adorn a vast array of Louis Vuitton’s iconic creations, including city bags, silk scarves, sunglasses, jewelry, shoes, and fragrances.

The updated collection benefits from advancements in technology, showcasing sharper details, more vibrant colors, and impeccable precision in the reinterpretation of Louis Vuitton’s legendary monogram patterns.

A Year of Celebration

This commemorative collection will unfold in three chapters:

  1. Chapter One: Launching globally on January 3, 2025, this segment features over 170 creations, including an innovative take on the Multicolor Monogram in 33 hues. The centerpiece is a custom Malle containing 33 Speedy bags.
  2. Chapter Two: Arriving in March 2025, it will spotlight the Cherry Blossom motif, a nod to spring’s elegance.
  3. Chapter Three: Scheduled for mid-2025, this final chapter will bring new surprises to the collection.

Milano Immersive Experience

From January 8 to 28, Milan will host an immersive celebration of the collection. Two historic trams, transformed into artful experiences, will traverse the city:

  • The Cinema Tram: A mobile cinema adorned in deep blue, showcasing Murakami’s artistic journey through videos and imagery.
  • The Literary Café Tram: A dynamic pink space featuring the kaleidoscopic Monogram Multicolor, offering visitors a cultural journey through Japanese traditions.

The trams, departing from Piazza Castello and Piazza Fontana, promise an unforgettable cultural experience, complemented by an exclusive exhibit at Louis Vuitton’s flagship store in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.

Rome’s Artistic Odyssey

The journey continues to Rome’s Cinema Spazio Etoile, where visitors will step into a redesigned space showcasing Murakami’s Superflat Monogram and Superflat First Love anime shorts. This immersive experience bridges the worlds of luxury, art, and storytelling, capturing the enduring magic of Louis Vuitton × Murakami.
